Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer will have a deep specialised level of knowledge that allows them to operate with autonomy to resolve targeted technical problems but will also be able to mentor peers at graduate and software engineer level.
As a senior engineer you are expected to foresee issues and resolve them before they happen, making well-reasoned decisions.
Job Responsibilities
- Work autonomously to design and implement solutions to problems/projects
- Work to broaden the technical abilities of your team by providing code reviews and timely feedback whilst encouraging engineering best practice
- Mentor and Support graduate and software engineers, sharing your extensive knowledge base
- Contribute to the development of IOTech services, expertise and quality processes
- Implement best practises and coding standards for the project
- Liaise with product management and technical leads to ensure development is work is progressing in line with requirements
- Work to enhance product documentation. This includes adding and reviewing new content, plus maintaining, and enhancing existing content to continually improve the quality of product documentation
Skills Knowledge and Experience
- Agile Expert (preferably Scrum)
- Expert in one or more specific technical fields
- Highly Experienced as a professional software developer
- Able to demonstrate excellent coding skills in C, C++ or Go
- Experience working in containerised environments (Docker/Kubernetes)
- An exceptional problem solver, planner and logical thinker
- Passionate about technology and developing high quality code
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, conscientious, honest and works well in a team
- Strong analytical skills
- Adaptable to changing and varied work settings and new technologies
