As IoT adoption gathers speed an increasing number of projects are moving from small scale pilots to large scale rollout. At the edge users face a unique set of management challenges when deploying systems consisting of 100s or possibly 1000s of edge nodes. During the presentation Jim will tackle key edge management issues by focusing on approaches to managing both the nodes and the their connected devices/sensors, as well as the applications that will be deployed on these nodes.
There will also be a demonstration of Edge Builder, IOTech’s new edge management solution. Edge builder is platform agnostic, edge-centric, edge management solution designed to manage edge nodes their connected sensors/devices as well as the applications (both containerized and native) that will run on them.
Jim has over 25 years of experience in software development for IoT Edge systems, enterprise application integration and mobile applications. Most recently, Jim was a Distinguished Engineer and Director of the IoT Platform Development Team within the IoT Solutions Division of Dell Technologies, where he was the chief architect for Dell's largest open-source effort to date, EdgeX Foundry™.
